Heather Horrocks was born in Utah but, as the
daughter of an oil man, grew up traversing the globe. She is
grateful for the opportunities she had to swim beaches from
South America to the Middle East, climb the steps of the Roman
Coliseum, and walk the path that Jesus walked in Jerusalem.
She is also grateful to live in the United States, the best
country in the world!
Though she worked for years as a secretary and medical
transcriptionist and owned several businesses (her favorite
being Adventureland Video), she has always wanted to write and
share what she has learned. Starting her own publishing
company, Word Garden Press, was an unexpected extension of
that desire.
When she’s not writing, Heather enjoys relaxing with her
family (husband Mark, children and grandchildren),
volunteering at her church, watching good movies, and reading
good books--through which she can travel again to exotic
locales or even through time to other incredible eras.
In her books, she shares the message of Jesus and the healing
power of His Atonement. This is especially true in Women
Who Knew The Mortal Messiah, the book of her heart.
She is already part way through the companion book of men from
the New Testament.
She lived in the Middle Eastern region for several years,
attending junior high and high school on opposite sides of the
Arabian/Persian Gulf (the gulf name changed depending on
whether she was living in Kuwait or Iran, and her mail had to
reflect that). She was even sitting on the tarmac at the Cairo
airport only minutes before it was bombed in 1967 (nearly
giving her father, staying behind in Kuwait, a heart attack
when he heard the news).
